Think im just gonna make this a weekly supplement, sorry for this again. It might be a stupid question but ill give it a bash.

    So - ATI 9250 (The 256meg model)
    or - ATI 9600 (The 128meg model)

Now i no the 9600 chipset is better but would you think the extra ram in the 9250 would make a difference, im a noob :o .
    Thanks for any help :)

    All I'll say is, I used to have a 128mb radeon 9200 and I updated to a 256mb radeon 9600 and I didn't notice much of a difference.

I personally would think the 128mb Raderon 9600 would be better.

All I know is that the 9600 can Play Battlefield on Medium with shadows and all the jazz either low or turned off.

I really can't imagine the 9250 playing Battlefield 2 all that well.....

...But you could just swap the cards around and test them out in game :)

My laptop has a 9600/9700 in it..

Just playing BF2 there @ 1024x768 with some medium some high settings with absolutely no jitter :)

Depends alot on the rest of the system, but 9600 should be ok for it :)

id say 9600 wouldbe the better option, really depends at what res you are using and what effects u want on. im sure u could lower res and turn off loadsso that the textures fit in 128megs of gfx ram. noo??
but the 9250 is a hell of a lot slower card, i have it in my 2nd pc and had a 9600 in my main pc and 2nd pc is unusable nearly for new games, though cpu power is roughly even on both pcs

Theres no way that the 256 megs of RAM will benefit a card as slow as the 9250. You really have to be talking about a 6800 before the jump from 128megs to 256megs makes a difference

Yup the 9600is by far the better card. Its well overestimated the effect a larger amount of ram on a card can have, because if your chipset is too bad to be able to process whats inthe ram its useless. For any kind of gaming at all the 9600is by far the better chip.
