    Hi,

I'm going to Brussels at 6am, so I hope someone knows...

Can you get directly from Charleroi aiport to the Gare du Nord, or what's the best way to get to Gare du Nord? (My hotel is yards from it).

Some websites say yes, some seem inconclusive. I'd like to know before I go, saves me lookin around trailing baggage after me.

    Hope someone knows tonight!

    Cheers.

Watch out for the Moroccans, they pickpocket phones and stuff...

    Thanks.

I've found it after all. Couldn't find it but it turns out you take a public bus (Line A) links all day long the Brussels South Charleroi Airport to the Charleroi-SUDTrainstation. Then you can take the train from there.

    Which is cool.

Are you travelling alone? There is a shuttle service from Charleroi to anywhere you want in the city (like a cheap taxi), but it can be expensive on your own. PM me if you would like the number or any other info on Brussels. (I travel over maybe once a month.)

    How were the Moroccans???

Mostly non intrusive!! City was quiet overall, not many tourists about. It was very cold too!

Ended up landing in Liege because of the terrible fog, and got bus to Brussels from there.

On way back, got train from Brussels to Charleroi, and bus from there to the Airport. Easy after all.

    Cheers for the help.

Is it 24hr pubs yeah??? I just booked my flights for myself and 15 others from college today.

We're only staying 2 nights (a Monday and Tuesday :( ), any particular places you'd recommend for a night out?

    Yeah, Celtica.

    There last week.

Went to a few normal, Belgian pubs, and while they were nice, and the beer was lovely, it wasn't very lively. Asked a barman about a livlier spot, and he recommended Celtica.

I wasn't too pushed, thinking it would be a typical Irish pub abroad, Wolfe Tones etc, but gladly it's not.:D

There is a happy hour from 12pm to midnight every day, with pints of the lovely local beer for 2 euro. Beware, spirits in Celtica are DEARER than Ireland, so its only cheap if you're on the beer (or maybe alcopops too). Generally there's some music on downstairs, it was a singer with guitar the night I was there.

Upstairs is a discobar with dancefloor. Upstairs is small and gets packed easily, but was a good laugh.

Bear in mind that it's not peak season for tourists, and I was there on a Saturday night, which might explain why it was packed.

No matter where you go, you can't beat the cheap beer, and with 15 of you, it'll be a laugh if you go to any bar.

    Enjoy
