Anyone interested in a weekend of poker in Westport?

All this talk of best Tourney Organisers has got me thinking – Could we get enough people together to form our own travelling non-profit making poker club?

For those that live in Dublin getting to live games is not a problem – but for the rest of us it can be.

My initial thought was doing a poker weekend in Westport. There’s plenty of hotels and I’m sure if we could guarantee numbers we’d get a reasonable deal on room rates – especially out of season. A weekend could be planned with Tournaments to fit the pocket. If people want a €10 rebuy on the Friday night. Then say a €50 or €100 Freezeout on the Saturday – followed by an Omaha tourney or whatever. Effectively we could set our own agenda according to how many players can attend. We could keep it exclusive [my preference as it would probably mean a higher standard of play] or we could open it to the local fish. And any reg fees would go to cost for room hire or dealers if we want them etc etc.

So would anyone be interested in something like this?

If it were successful we could then move it around. Anywhere we like… maybe do it four times a year as a kind of poker holiday.

If it were really successful we could use reg fees to buy supplies like tables… chips etc.

Well i'll throw my name into it as well so! Westport is crying out for a game to be run but i have not seen anyone making the moves yet.
Fatboydim, im sure i know you to see from tourneys around the county, it would be nice to put a face to the name, maybe in kiltimagh some night.

I thought my name said it all Murfie :D

But if this helps - Photo attached.

And Michael that's a great offer of the chips. I'll make initial enquiries at the Castlecourt. And lets see if we can get a few more names down.

I would like to be a part of this Len. If you need any help let me know, as being in Galway it's not too far away to your neck of the woods. I also do have some poker supplies that can be of some use.

That would be great... Now any thoughts on when ... Given that we'll need some lead time in order to organise... and we still need some interest from those lazy Dubs :D
