Ive only ever built P3 systems before, now Im attempting my first p4
(yeah I know sad, but never needed to before) The mobo Ive got is
    Canyon S478 Motherboard - 916GM-L - Intel 865G Chipset - P4 S478
And when I have a quick flick through the manual, its showing an extra
power connector(2 pin) what is this? does this mean I need a p4 specific
    PSU, can I ignore them?

All help welcome, its hard to google 'extra power connector' etc.

Are you sure its not a 4-pin square connector with black and yellow wires?

if its just 2 pins on the motherboard, it is most likely there for you to connect your PSU's fan speed monitoring cable. You can do without it if your psu doesn't have one.

It a 2 pin connector in the middle of the board well away from the main power connector and the manual doesnt really say much about it.. So for a p4 board its normally just the usual 20 pin connector.
