There is a small plane circling Atlanta at the moment as the landing gear wont come down and will soon be attempting a landing on two wheels on Sky news NOW.

    ....therefore it must be newsworthy.

    Did it land OK?

Its still circling at the moment.

Its not the 737 from LA that happened a while ago with the bent front wheel.

Just landed now and it was a very impressive landing, mainly due to the fact that it was actually a pretty dull landing, not even any sparks, propellers didnt come flying off or anything.

I'd hoped for something a bit more spectacular.

It's not news unless someone dies then I guess?

If that's what you think ....but im having trouble seeing where you derived that from.

I would consider News to be any information that makes me to be aware of changes in the environment political or social that will or could affect me.

Sensationalism belongs in trash like the SUN

Sure there is place for every opinion but it aint News.

I hate when threads contain "Now" because ya know its not "now" anymore and that your not going to see it.

Jesus christ, he was just letting people know that a plane was about to attempt to land without the luxury of wheels, and that they can see it if they so please.

NO NEED TO F*CKING WHINGE ABOUT IT, YOU'RE NOT BEING MADE TO WATCH IT!!!

How appropriate that Live at Five was also being shown on their entertainment channel, Sky Three.

EDIT: I don't think anyone's complaining about the original poster, Dave. Just about Sky "News".

It was news an hour ago, but thankfully there was a very skillful pilot in the plane and he managed to perform a very dull landing that was nowhere near exciting enough for it to be shown on any futher new reports. So its not news anymore, unless you happen to live in Atlanta.

It could have been very different though and people could have died, although that is unlikely to have caused any environment, political or social changes to anyones life in Ireland so I guess its unimportant then and must have never been worthy of the title news for anyone?

Are the news channels paying for these to happen?, as the same thing happened about a month ago in LAX.
