Ok, I am guessing that most of the posters on right now are in work???
Well so am I, so now hands up whose going insane? Huh? Just me?

Right, let me explain. Was told to prepare a sales and marketing plan in excel. easy, not much detailed required.
Chairman coming in to see and review it. Fine, then at 9.30am I am told, actually, we need way more detail, and to prepare the document in word.

At 1.45 I was having a fit, I missed lunch, and honestly, my face has come out in blotches from the stress attack I gave myself trying to finish this.

So 3500 words, and a load of research later, I am all done.

So, where is the chairman, I mean, I shouldn't be posting here right now, I should be in a meeting with him..... but guess what, he's not here, and his mobile is switched off, so I don't know if he is even bothering to come in at all...... and the phone wont stop ringing with head wrecking ad sales tossers, and I think I may just completely loose the fecking plot!!!

You'd get more work done if you weren't hanging around on boards tbh.

    *raises an eyebrow*

    From the charter:
Welcome to After Hours. This forum is akin to the "General" forum you will find on most Internet forums. You will find threads covering many issues here and it is the most popular forum on Boards.ie. There are lots of other forums covering a vast array of topics, this forum is more general and doesn't deal in any specifics. This forum is basically for threads that are "off-topic" in other forums. Some cross pollination may occur, but most of the time After Hours is used to discuss more "light-hearted" issues and topics such as celebrities, interesting websites, non-serious events, general questions and advice on trivial issues, light-hearted or interesting news.

Blogs are where you should post your specific annoyances with the world, ie work is annoying me today and this is why. After Hours is for general topics of discussion which are quite different.

    *shrugs shoulders*

It wasn't a challenge, they took down the get it off your chest thread (or I can't find it) so I wanted to know why sausage's thread was out of place. I think he/she meant for it to be taken up in a general complaint/dispair sense.
Sausage may have hit out at salespeople (ggrrr) but I don't see how the thread is amiss here...

Picture what this forum was like if we all posted a new thread every time something annoying happened to us each day. Or if everyone treated it like a blog.

Wow another junior gets p'ssed for having to do aload of work....boo f'ing hoo. In ten years you'll be passing on the same workload to some snotty nosed junior who reckons he/she is better than the boss anyway.

Thirty seconds of my life lost never to be re-couped.

    Hope it went well:mad:

Well thats for all your 'support', it went really well. Chairman was delighted with the plan, so bring on the bonus.

And for all you grumblers, relax would you, can a girl not blow off a bit of steam now and then?

To the mods, I am sorry if this thread was not appropriate, feel free to delete it and I promise not to post my grievances here again. (unless its to see if the boards users have experienced same grievances etc)

The latter is fine. Posting "does anyone else suffer this?" is the norm on here. Posting daily accounts of your life isn't really. If you want to do that, start a blog. Livejournal.com or similar could be of help to you.

sillysausage, you really should look into getting irc (Internet relay chat) from the links that were given to you on Personal Issues. You will enjoy it, I know you will.

Joejoem, there are to be no private conversations in a public forum. I am a very good, and well behaved poster, and so I shall obey the rules. ;)

PM me if you want tho

And another 5 minutes for writing your complaint?!... chilax already

and i think the whole "has anyone else experienced this?" is implied in the fact that she posted it on boards as apposed to in a blog... but then hey! im not a mod :D

Bloody sure I wont be complaining to the chairman. I do actually like my job, just got a bit freaked out earlier, thats all. 95% of the time its seriously everything I wanted, so my apologies for the melt down.

Why not bring it up with him so you don't have to melt down in future.
It does not have to be a conflict.
Just explain how you put alot of work in and put yourself under pressure for nothing.
Bosses alot of the time don't see these things because they are focused on one thing - it's no harm to point it out.
Seriously - just friendly advice - the less s tress you go through now the longer you'll love :)

Ah yes, stress really can snowball on you if you're not careful. It's how you deal with it that's the important thing. If boards.ie helped you today, that's great.

Now, about this time-machine. Where can I get one, and how much will it cost me? There's an incident that happened on a starry night under the palm-trees of Tahiti's finest strands that I would like to return to...

anyone whos seen Napoleon Dynamite can atest that time machines don't work as well as the internet says they do
