Take That Documentary

Did anyone see the Take That documentary on ITV last night?

I CANT BELIEVE the four guys (mark, howard, gary and jason)were that desperate for the spot light again that they would agree to meet up, after ten years of not seeing each other, in front of camera's and not have assurances that Robbie was going to show up. They came across as such losers, I was embarrassed for them. They were so awkward when they found out rob wasnt coming, it was cringe-worthy stuff!

I mean, Robbie came off just as bad- sending a partronising video message instead. But his absence made the whole reunion about him, not the entire band. I mean, I know the other four lads have been out of the game for a while, but dont they have agents or SOMEONE to make sure they dont make fools of themselves?

It was good up to that last bit, now I just feel sorry for them and it has entirely changed my opinion of Robbie- he's a mad git!

Ok- rant over and out! :D

i watched last nights documentary on Take That and i have to say Robbie Williams came across as one sad moron... he is such a 'poor me' type of person... apparantly all he ever wanted was to be loved by the others...

Jason Orange looked really weird ... as if he had some work done on his face... he also sounded unbelieveably camp... he sounded totally different to when he was in the band.

I felt sorry for Robbie. He was only 22 when it all ended. All that fame etc that young would have caused you to act up. If it was me, I wouldn't have turned up either and I would have sent video msg.

Jason Orange came across as a sad git. What a pretentious twat!

Yeh, I thought Jason looked really weird too. Obviously not sleeping for ten years has taken its toll- looked to me like he may have had work done on his pock marked skin?! He has obviously grown very camp over the years too- i mean he was always a little bit gay... but now- wow!

I didnt feel sorry for Robbie, he's got too much money and too much time on his hands to wallow in his own self-obesessed crap. You heard it from his own mouth, Take That didnt turn him into a alcohol and drug addict, he was going that way already. Sounds like his low self-esteem is really really deep-seated and not GARY BARLOWS FAULT!

Yeah I know what you mean. It'd be like if the Beatles agreed to meet up and John or George didn't turn up.

i'm not saying that it's Gary Barlows fault just that they could have treated him better when things got nasty. I know he has a tendency to wallow, he has manic depressive tendencies.

All I'm saying is that if I was treated like he was treated by the band, I would not have turned up either.

Sanncoo- I agree with you, it would seem that they did pick a bad way to confront Robbie about his lack of committment, but ten years later- after all the success Robbie has had, esp. compared to the total lack of success every other Take That member has had- wouldn't you think that Robbie, out of all of them, would be the least bitter about the split? He has had so many other things happen to him, would you not expect him to be totally over the whole incident? I just couldnt believe how petty he came across, it kind of shocked me how much it was still a sore point with him!

I think, had a mentally stronger person been in that situation, they would have been big enough to return ten years later to meet those people and decide that the bad times are over and done with, you had some great times too, why not get together to remember the good times?

Perhaps if they had agreed to have a meeting, but no camera's were allowed Robbie would have shown up? I can certainly understand why he didnt want the first time he sees these people again to be in front of a camera.

You just have to wonder what was going on behind the scenes that the other four allowed themselves to be open to such emotional manipulation from the production company, RIGHT IN FRONT OF CAMERAS?!

I have to say, I saw it differently from you. It wasnt that the other four were desparate for the spotlight again(well, perhaps Mark, he's tried to relaunch his career several times). It was that they wanted to tell the story ten years on.

I didnt think they were losers, people were once famous, then they become ordinary joe's once again, that doesnt make them losers. Howard bought and done up a house to be near to his daughter. Gary Barlow has a mansion over several acres from the proceeds of the song-writing royalties and is happily married with two kids. Its a bit harsh to say that they're losers.

Robbie Williams once again confirmed what I thought of him, he's a w'anker, completely self absorbed and full of ****.

VH1 have a show called bands re-united and they do this kind of show, albeit on a smaller level all the time.

All in all, a good documentary I thought.

    ^^^ Agreed.

Dont get me wrong, I thought they had all- besides from Robbie- made great lives for themselves since the break-up of take that. Thats not why I called them losers.

What I take issue with is how they choose to come away from those great lives and demean themselves by doing the get-together on tv! It's just another example of people choosing to live out deeply personal and private matters on television in front of millions. I mean hey, dont get me wrong, it doesnt stop me from watching :) but I suppose I expected more from people who have already been under such an intense microscope for a long period of time. You would think that would turn a person off, obviously not!

Up to the last 15 mins, I loved it, they weren't losers. By the end, they were all losers.

I thought it was great and Robbie let himself down by not showing up. I really think the guy needs help.
He might be more famous then the others but he's not happy.

And he admitted that at the end. He said he would give it all up for the life that Gary B had. That's why I feel sorry for him. He opened pandora's box and what he got came as a double edged sword. He proved he was better than the others but at what price.....
