is it jsut me (and my crappy IBB connection) or is anyone else having problems connecting to any of the microsoft.com sites? (update.microsoft.com, office.microsoft.com, etc).

Takes ages to load for me and most often jsut times out. Other sites are loading fine. Tried on 2nd PC and it's got the same prob.

Wouldn't be too much of an issue normally but i've jsut done a fresh install of XP and Office and need to download the updates.

Can you get to AV update sites and/or Spybot? iirc there's a few viruses which prevent access to these sites. Check the hosts files (c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc) and delete any dodgy entries in there.

yea thats the first thing i did. Both PC's are clean.

I was able to finally get access last night. Still working this morning. No idea why i wasn't able to access for the last 24 hours or so.

Could have been a DNS issue in your ISP.

yea know where you're coming from, but Ciaran500 is on the same ISP (different mast though) and had no probs. It seemed to be able to resolve the domains ok, just the data from the sites crawled, when any other website loaded no prob.
