Acoustic guitar pedal - ideas?

    Hi all.
I'm wondering about getting a Christmas present for my father. He plays (guitar - acoustic) C&W and Irish stuff in pubs and I was thinking of getting him some kind of floor pedal for effects. Is there any pedal that ye could suggest that would be suitable for the type of music he plays. Like maybe sounding more like the American style C&W riffs or stuff like that.
    Thanks.

    I have this.

its pretty excellent. There are other versions from Boss that do a bit more - as you will see on the Thomann site - but I like this one. It has Chorus and reverb which IMHO are the only effects (besides compressor) that work well on acoustic guitars.

Other than that you could get a acoustic specific EQ pedal.

Might be an idea to get him a tuner pedal if he hasn't got one already.

Boss TU-2 is a good option, or the Korg DT-10.

Chorus. Just beautiful with a good acoustic.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. The one above is along the lines of what I'm looking for. There wouldn't be a cheaper one around would you say? I reckon about €100 - €120 is my budget. Of course I don't want to be a cheapskate and end up with a crap pedal!

For instance what would this be like?

The problem with Zoom stuff is that its a lot of effects in one pedal. When you see what 1 good single effect pedal costs and compare then you get the idea that this may well be cheaper technology. I have an old zoom multi effect distortion and although the sounds are fun to play with I dont think there is much quality there.

My 2c. The best pedals either do one thing and one thing only or cost as much(relatively) as the amount of effects they do.

dont waste yr money on the zoom. check out Music Maker - they had some (BOSS one) in their recent sale. you might get a deal there. Alternatively Perfect Pitch have them in the window. cant remember how much though. could be cheaprer on Thomann.

single stompbox is the way to go...

maybe a nice delay for some slapback country stuff?
