Any bar in the IFSC will have a bit of atmosphere in there from 4ish to 8ish.

The Harbourmaster, The Excise or Laguna spring to mind.

    www.ifsconline.ie - you'll find them on the 'map', 11, 31 and 39.

5 minute walk from The Point.

There is a good pub on the quays way down. It's about 500 meters from the point, on the left as you are heading towards the point. Don't know the name, it's on a corner. You also have the (Jurys?) hotel but that is nearer to the Customs House.

The Harbourmaster is full of knobs!
Much better bet is Lagoona in the IFSC.
The bar that was recommended earlier along the quays (nearer the Point), and there also a bar in the Point at the toll bridge called Harry's bar but I'm not 100% sure you can get into it from the street on concert nights.

hmmmmm, now you got me thinking... might have to give the lagoona a look, sure if all these pubs are in the IFSC then we have a variety to choose from! sounds good, sure we wont be there too long anyhow, wont get there till about 5.30 and will be leaving about 7.30-8.00 to see the concert! thanks for all the help though, it is much appreciated

Don't go into The Excise (across the road from Lagoona), it's a dump.

Bar in the Clarion is okay for a quiet drink, mainly because there's nobody else in there.

To save yourself the trouble of walking down the quays for ages and ages... you could get a bus to Ringsend (no. 2 or 3) and then grab a few beers there. The Oarsman is about the nicest of the pubs in the village. It's only a two minute walk over the toll bridge to the gig once you leave the pub. perfect!
