    www.godonthe.net

So far the articles I've read are very well written, constantly backed up by sound biblical passages and concepts.

Many of the articles pose 'skeptical' questions and systematically answer them! I find that style very useful and coherant.

    Any thoughts / comments???

Yes. The section entitled "Who are Christians to tell me how to live?" is particularly marvellous.

Sigh. There exists a special kind of alchemy between Christianity and the Internet... *casts a long, thoughtful gaze*

ha! thats a great section alright... LOL

Most Christians keep quiet about or convieniently ignore the fact [especially when talking to non-christians] that Jesus has told us that belief in him is the ONLY true "religion" (John 14:6). I believe that he has not upheld this to true simply to be belittling or demeaning of anyones beliefs or faith; but because his compassionate purpose was and is to bring people into a real and true relationship with God. How could anyone see the need for change if they were told that what they were doing was correct and justified???

Other Christians seem to have a phenomenal ability to piss me off by offensive mischaracterisations of other Christians who disagree with them.

Apparently, all those that don't believe that the "rapture" comes from a sound reading of the text; we all believe that the Earth will get holier and holier over time through the work of the Church. And 85% of real theologians believe in the rapture, so get in line dumbasses!

I mean crikey, when you present Christianity as a package with all of this stuff on it (like the rapture, literal six-day creation, prosperity "gospel")* and insist that this is really what Christianity is, you immediately put off a lot of people. Then when you slag off other Christians who don't have an identical theology to you by obviously misrepresenting them... GAH!

    * To be fair, I've only found the first mentioned on the site.

    What?

I dont even pretend to undertand the mine-field that is rapture "theology", but the Bible definitely talks about the end times, and its sure confusing what exactly will happen. Verses like Matthew 24:40-41 are definitely brain-twisters!

However I have seen verses such as these being take grossly out of context to '"prove" various end-time speculations.
