Hotpress Cylinder - do I need to insulate mine?

    Hi all

    CAn anyone tell me if my Cylinder in the hotpress is insulated or do I need to get a lagging jacket for it? Thanks!

    No it's not insulated (IMO) - you will need a jacket for it.

    Thanks Dr.Spock, anyone else. Don't know why its not copper either but don't care about that, just want to make sure its insulated so I don't loose heat! Cheers!

    cant be sure, that might just be an outer skin with insulation layer inside.
    Easiest way to tell is touch it when it has hot water in it.
    If its hot on the outside then you are loosing heat, simple.
    External insulation should be cold to the touch, that means its keeping the heat in.
