CD details

    hey just a quick question can some one explain to me how programs like media player and I-tunes get the details of CD Albums that you put into the PC? i've looked through the CD's and can't find any files which links to the details cos i know the details come from the Web i just wanna know how it can determine what CD it is you put in?

    Sorry if wrong thread+if a stupid question

    It's not the CD that links it's the player. It then connects to a CD database online and gets the names probably based on CD length then track length etc.

    yeah thats what i thought it moght so it check the detils based on album length, number of tracks and length of each track say and then that determines an individual album?
