    Hey all,

Just wondering what do people think are they best acoustic guitar strings out there?

I always use Elixir .12's, I wouldn't mind changing to an alternative if I could find better strings.....Any ideas?

I have tried a few brands but Martin strings are the best. Beautiful sound off them when first bought and they last long too.

Ya, I tried Martin stings but wasn't too impressed!

Did anyone ever try GHS strings? I haven't used them yet but I think their I'm the same league as Elixirs!

I've Elixir .12's on my Simon and Patrick, and a new set of strings makes that guitar sound like the greatest instrument on earth.

I've tried just about everything in the light(ish) range on my Lowden; and time and time again I come back to D'Addario phosphor bronze lights (the blue packet).

Of the other ones I liked, this is the order I'll try them again, just to convince myself that the daddarios are best:
    - Elixers Polyweb.
    - Daddario EXP's (dont last as long as elixers)
    - Martin SP's

also want to try the elixer nanowebs

My experience with Martin SP's is that the quality varies pack to pack. Sometimes I'll LOVE them and other times they sound terrible. Weird I know.

I have the light blue daddarios on both my acoustics at the moment and I'm rather impressed. 6 packets for €30 from the states. I still prefer elixirs but when i tried martin strings I wasnt impressed at all tbh. They just dont hold their sound. The dadarrios are quite nice at the moment and they've been on a while

So i'd say elixirs if you can afford them (try buy online) if not try the light blue dadarrios mentioned above
