Hi Lads is it possible to get a Canal + Box for Ireland. I remember seeing it available on the web at some point for those who wanted to see Live Permiership Football but cant seem to find a lnk to one now.

I'm looking for it as a present for a French person living here who obviously wants to view French TV.

Thanks for any help on the matter.
    D.

you would have to use their French address to order one which I guess would be difficult if its a surprise.

Desktop PC Boards discount code on https://www.satellite.ie/ is boards.ie

You don't need Canal+ to watch French TV. Ask your friend what do they want to watch and I'm sure we can send you in the right direction.
BTW Where is your friend located? and what sort of dwelling is he/she living in?

I don't think you need Canal+ for live Premiership either.

PC TV cards, Thomson TVs and some others do Secam, only needed for Analog. At the minute Digital French is on 5W FTA, but no-one knows for how long. Secam not needed for Digital. FTA Digital receiver not a Sky Digibox.

Canal+ France does NOT show Premiership.
Canal+ Scandinavian versions do so perhaps that is what you mean.

French rights to English football are held by rival TPS broadcaster. Not Canal.
    television par satellite
    www.tps.fr

The channel you need is TPS Foot. (Hotbird viaccess2. very easy to get. best football channel on satellite IMO.)

Well if he has the net its all here http://www.canalplus.fr/
but you really have to ask him what he wants to watch!!! Canal+ is a French $ky which will cost!!! but if he just wants a few RTE type channels he might contact say www.satellite.ie .

    Is that any good???

    Hi
I’m new to this forum (after hearing it on Today FM giving out details about tuning in ITV!)
I hope somebody can give me an opinion if anybody has a vested interest in this I would be grateful!
My question is advantages/disadvantages of getting either a DVDRecorder HDD or SKY+ (& when is the Sky-160GB coming out? -I saw the pic inside an old Sky mag I found dated Nov “04)
    I’ve seen the Sky+ offers come down in price OCT= Euro299-E149cashback. NOV=E69!
    :) ADV.= is the cheap price –sky+
    DISADV. = E15+E21.50 (Ent. 2mix) without the premium channels = E36.50
E50.50 with 2 premium channels + also with the two is 3mths half-price offer!
IF THERE ARE ANY MORE ADV/DISADV. PLEASE COMMENT.

DVD Recorders retail at E140-199/HDD-E399 (Phillips 80GB Model I was shown recently!) (ALDI’S had a 160GB model at E350 a few mths ago!)
 DISADV. = As the Sky+ may come in handy for taping clashes but on Sky Digital only
& then if the space/ limit is up, you send it to the VCR/DVDR.
    .
:) ADV. = The advent of technology is/is it Dvd Recorders?
The retailer happened to mention as they do! (Right after I mentioned the Sky+ offer for E69!) That DVDR’s have their own EPG & PAUSE ANALOGUE LIVE TV:eek: (debatable) which stopped me in my tracks & asking ‘techie’ questions about it.

So there you have it, (My Christmas list) but if anyone has it off to a tee! I sure will be more than glad to listen.

    Thank you,
