Wonder if he'd take my right leg in exchange? I don't need it to play bass.....

I'm not a big fan of using fingerboards for artwork, tho....I have enough trouble with too many dots on the 3rd, 5th, and 7th frets, LOL

Wow. Nice but wouldn't want it for anything other than a paddle for a raft ;)

That was a gift from a fan... Took 2 years to make and the body has something like 47 laminations

It would be impossible to do the things I love to do on a bass on that one. Fair play to the talented Mr Baudin but nah, not for me.

Christ, that is ****ing awesome. I love it. I wouldn't have a clue how to play it, but I love it.

    what would the tuning be??

I'd tune it all to A and D and let the whole lot ring out in a doomy drone of death.

Meh. You can't just invent a random stringed instrument and call it a bass. The most I'd concede is that they seem to be some kind of electric guitar. Bleugh... where's the vomiting smilie?

Yah, it would be a whole new instrument to learn, I wager.....but I'd still like to try! :D

More like a piece of art than an instrument really..

I'd say it's more akin to a chapman stick, as it's primeraly played double tapping style.

The only thins I have against the double tapping style is the loss of dynamics that is really inherent when you whack a guitar string down on a fret. I think it is exceedingly difficult to make a piece sound really dynamic and expressive if double tapping is extensively used. This applies more to the treble strings than the bass strings really. However, I've heard victor Wooten play some very dynamic tapped stuff on his 4 string.

Its a really great piece of craftsmanship nonetheless.
