Analysis of stats

was looking at my stats for NL STTs ( $5) today for the first time in ages and realised I had no real way of assessing how good / bad/ indiffernt my play is. I've been on a reassonably good run of late, relatively speaking, but before venturing up a level again (which proved relatively costly) I'd appreciate some feedback on what these stats say about my play. I also need to get some software to more accurately detail these numbers.

Anyway, on VC , they are as follows: for just under 20,000 hands since jan.

    Games won 16% ( I'd say similar % for 2nd and 3rd overall)
    Flops Seen: 25%
Showdowns Won: 20% ( obviously an issue)
    Wins if flop 38%

    Actions:

    Fold 54%
    Check 20%
    Call 10%
    Bet 7%
    Raise 8%
    Re Raise 1%

    Folding 70% pre flop

At this level I play a very tight game indeed, sticking to premium hands until the field thins a bit and the muppets have killed each other off, then using position and image (where such exists given I doubt many others pay much attention to who's doing what at this level) to steal the blinds and take down pots on raggedy flops. Generally , of late, I can finish in the top three 80% of the time.

I know there are no hard and fast rules on the above %'s as cards, opposition etc will determine your play on each table case by case, but I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on the above.
    Cheers
    Dave

This is the % of hands won, not the amount of STT's won.

These stats are pretty meaningless for STTs. You will naturally be seeing more flops as the table gets short-handed. If you want generate a meaningful set of stats, you should be keeping a record of where you place in each STT.
I can finish in the top three 80% of the time
Is that what you think or do you have numbers to back it up? That's a very high percentage. ROI is a good place to start when you have a decent amount of data.

i checked that very thing with VC last night and was told it was , in fact , Games Won.

not surprising that they would get it wrong though :-)

Henbane, 80% was based on 40 games played in the lasst 10 days or so, out of which i placed in 32 of them.

I dont play on VC so aAre these 10 seater STTs?
    Or 5/8/9 seater??

Also at a 16% win rate am I correct in saying you have won roughly 6 of the 40 games and placed in 26?

They are good results alright, but the stats for the next 60 STTs will say alot more about your game and give a better picture of your consistency (i.e. 100 STTs to see if you are affected by variance)

Also, if I got ITM in 32 games but only won 6 of them I would be looking at my short-handed game with view to increasing the number of 1st place finishes.

    Keep it up. gl.

I'm sure Karlh or PPP-Pitboss will verify it but I am sure it is hands won. A hand is always referred to as a game by online software. Also this stat appears in cash games too which can't really be won as such.

If I am wrong I will eat Dev's socks.

No need for such harsh punishment.

Pokertracker is about the best software for keeping tabs on your tournament and cash game statistics. It doesn't work with Tribeca though, at least not PPP at any rate.
