Ascended / Ori

Ok i release which is which and what they re beleives are but

did the Ori give the Ancients the plague that almost wiped them out and if so were they at war before they ascended or did the Ori ascend first then tried to wipe out the acients who in turn ascended to survive

I thought they were just the same race who cos of their differing points of view went their seperate ways. Didnt think that they'd ever been at war as such (seeing as they would have had their hands full with the wraith?)

Am i making any sense or am i totally confused?

Maybe it me that confused, they left the wraith behind in the other galaxy didnt they?It just seemed logical to me the if theres good ascened and evil ascended they would have battled alongt he way?

Yer they did. I was always under the impression that they didnt openly fight as such. More so that they choose different paths /after/ they ascended or whatever.

But surly the ascended will step in to stop them. Wasnt there something about them not stopping anubis aslong as he didnt use his powers??
And werent they stopping whats here name from helping people.

But then againt the ori are using priors to do their dirty work so maybe the ascended cant do anything

The ascended and the ori are equally powerfull. If there was a war it would just be a never ending fight, like what Oma did to stop Anubis. What the ascended have done is tried to hide our galaxy from the Ori. Apparently the Ori are weary of openly attacking our galaxy so they are having their priors etc. build a fleet to invade and convert our galaxy. They know that the Ancient ascended will not interfere in a "conventional" war.

They never attacked the galaxy themselves, they didn't even know it was there.

I believe the Ori were described as a group of Ancients who developed greater and greater religious ferver as they ascended, eventually becoming what they are shown as in the series. It seems pretty clear that there was something of a tiff between themselves and the Alterians which may or may not have resulted in thousands of years of war and stuff.

What we need now is an Ancient ascended version of the priors to even things out. Maybe Daniel could volunteer as he's been there done that.

Well they will have to do something to even things out, should be really interesting to see just what they do. When I first heard that the Ori were going to be evil ancients I was praying they would not be ascended so we would get to see some cool stuff with all that super advanced tech, it was a bit of a kick in the stomach to find out that they were ascended. I think the idea that ori cannot enter our galaxy due to the ancients is a nice touch and hopefully we will see the priors bringing some seriously cool ships etc to bear on earth. Don't worry I'm sure there will be some conveniently located super weapon to deal with them just in time.
