Bens shoes, on north milwaukee. grotty little place that does amazing bargains in sneakers. vintage converse for $20 a pair.

if yer into guitars check out mid western buy and sell, you can get some incredible deals there.

for electronics etc, most of the big best buys etc seem to all have much the same deals. best buy can be good for shop soiled stuff though.

make sure and visit pennys noodles, i love them much muchly

Filene's Basement right on the main shopping street (Michigan Ave I think) has some great deals.

The one across the road from the "John Hancock centre" has great bargins. By the way the "basement" is the first 3 floors! :D

If you are going to get a car head out to Gurnee mills about 1 hour north of Chicago. It's a huge outlet mall, and I mean huge.

We went overwith one change of clothes, a suitcase (with 3 large carryall's inside it) and still had to get another bag to carry all the stuff we, sorry correction, the missus bought! There are serious bargins to be found.
    Enjoy your trip;)

If you have a day, and a car, there is a huge retail park just across the state border in wisconsin. Cant remember the name, but people would know if you have relatives over ther. All major brands sell up it it. Each one has a store, this is if you are looking for bargins. They supply you with push trolleys which you will need!

    Thanks for the replies.
There seems to be 2 main outlet centers, the one mentioned by skibum and a Premium Outlets at http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=63.
