usb 1.1 or 2?

    how can i find out which one i have on my computer?

    Connect a device that you know is USB 2.0 to your computer....if you get a message telling you that your device can operate faster using a high speed USB port, then it's 1.1, if you don't its 2.0
    Failing that, transfer a large file to a pen drive and work out the transfer rate
    USB 1.1 is 8Mbps
    USB 2.0 is 480Mbps

    As above. Or easier: RTFM(or spec's at least). Or if you must: check device manager -last entry.. does it mention 2.0 or 'Enhanced'?

    USB capabilities are implemented on your motherboard.
    If you can find out your motherboard make and model, the specs should be available on-line somewhere.

    After a quick check of windows system information, and possible freeware apps, I found nothing.

    at the bios on my pc it says usb 2 yet all the ports are usb1.1 when i try use em..any suggestions. i know it has usb2, it has firewire.
