This has probably been posted before but without the search I can't tell.

I want to get a bluetooth usb dongle for my ibook but I can't decide whether to believe the apple claims that only http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore?productLearnMore=T6295ZM/A
this one will work. Surely any standard bluetooth dongle will work? Most only state plug and play with PC but has anyone tried these *generic* ones on a mac?

I have a belkin one, that I bought for my PC and according to their website: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=&Section_Id=200583&pcount=&Product_Id=196899
Is is compatible with Mac OS X 10.2 and higher, but the drivers are not in the box (you have to get them off apple) This one is only about e25 in PC world

i have 2 - one is a no brand, the other mitsumi, both work seamlessly and have for years. the one thing to bear in mind is that if you want headset support for using skype or whatever you will have to go for the d-link adapter (not sure if all models of d-link support this). basically if using a headset is a priority then make sure you go for the right dongle. neither of mine support it and there doesn't seem to be a work around anywhere on the net.

Hi, check out this thread, basically go with the D-Link and make sure the one you get is a newer hardware revision (so that it is compatible with Apples Firmware updates)
