To sell or not to sell? Peavey Classic!

I'm considering selling my Peavey Classic 50. I love the amp and initially got it with the intention of doing a few gigs this summer with it. However I'm not so sure I'll be able to gig now so that puts that out the window. Also because its 50watt tube amp I think it would be more suited to louder volumes such as at gigs.

Now during the week I got a Micro Cube. I love the sound my Les Paul has through it and havent used my Peavey in about a week. The cube is loud enough for playing at home. With college now I have less and less time to play. Dont get home most evenings til 7.30pm and weekends are spent working on projects

Should I just sell it and put the money towards my piano (otherwise I'll be getting a loan)? How much do you reckon I could get for it? It's in good condition. Do you think it would be one of those decisions you'd regret doing in a few years

    Any thoughts?

Never sell good gear, you'll just end up regretting it.
Throw out some of your wife's clothes and put the Classic into storage - you'll find use for it in the future.

Or i could just hold on to it for you. ;)

I agree, don't sell it off, you will end up regretting it.

Yeah some other schmuck'll end up abusing it, keep it. It wont decrease in value or anything.

Yeah you might be right. It's 925 from Thomann. The only thing is I just cant crank it high enough to get my desired tone. I was thinking of getting rid of it for now, using the microcube then save up for someting like a Marshall Jubilee or JCM800. Or maybe an AC30. Just so busy lately that it doesnt seem worthwhile leaving it sitting in my music room unplayed

As Fish Head said, it won't decrease in value, so don't rush out and do something potentially foolish. Even if you don't use it for months, I'm sure you'll find some use for it again.

Hmm. I'll give it some thought. I picked it up for €475 delivered (bargain imo). I dont think I'll get a much better amp second hand for that price

Always keep the really good stuff even if you're not using it. Sometime in the future you will.

Pfhhh, Utter rubbish from the lot of you  Its old and it will just get older! Why stick it in a closet where its susceptible to the dredded amp worms. GStormcrow, you have tried to help me in the past so out of the goodness of my heart I will give you €300 to take this problem amp(bad amp!) away and not let those amp worms(I hate them  ) get another victim.

    What do you say :p

How much would you be selling that fine piece of equipment for? I might actually be willing to swap my MG250 for it. If your lucky.:D

This is not the FS section. Remember that!

Lol that's the funniest thing I've heard in a long time. And just because I got lucky to get it for €475 doesnt mean if I sold it somebody else will get it at that price. At almost a grand new I'd be looking at around €600 ish for it since it's in such good condition.

Anyway, I've seen the light and I think I'll be keeping it. Thanks lads. Dont know what I was thinking

Feylya (At no stage did I say it was for sale (as tempting as your offer may be Ste. lol ) )!

I know dude. Just warning people. Could get out of hand too easily.

Ah yeah I know. Actually you can lock this if you want in case people misinterpret it as a FS thread. I've decided I'm not selling it anyway. Thanks again lads
