Just wondering if any of you lads have been or played in any of the casinos there or have any idea of what no limit games are good. Prefer tournament play myself , seems to be two on most days in the Borgata which might be worth taking a look at . Am heading to the States in two weeks, and am going to be in Philadelphia for four nights so wondering would it be worth heading over to Atlantic City.

    Cheers

def worth heading to AC its class theres decent tournaments on in all hotels if your looking for cheap one try the taj mahals 50+15 f.o every day at ten and 6, tropicana have 250 freezeout every couple of days along with a few small buy in tourneys afaik 20dollars in and 20 rebuy! if you havnt booked anywhere to stay try tropicana its the best hotel around if your looking for cheap but on the boardwalk try the irish pub think there website is www.theirshpub.com only 20 or 30 dollars a night but you get what you pay for prmie location and.....well thats about all it has!!if you go to the cardrooms of a few of the hotels thay have the tournament games up on a board!! its a great place cheap food free drink and great poker!

We were there over a year ago now and was great. The Taj was my favorite poker room where I played some low limit games and there seemed to be tourneys on every evening. We only managed to make one tourney in the casino we stayed in which was the Tropicana and it was also a good poker room. The only thing about AC is don't bother straying from the Boardwalk it's pretty seedy.

I wrote an article on my time there.

Musician, thanks for the tip. Will put the Tropicana top of the list so, hadnt heard much about the place to be honest. Think its only about fifty or sixty miles from Philadelphia so well worth the day trip unless I get lucky, in the poker sense of course, and end up staying:D

i was there around this time last year.

just played some low limit cash in the taj. nice poker room.

the place isint a patch on vegas though

i was going to stay in the irish pub, but when i rang them they said they dont do accomodation in the wintertime. (this was last year though, so you might want to check). its worth going there for a pint and the food is decent.

when you get there, theres a number (all the hotels will have a business card for it and you'll see it placed beside public phones) that you can call that tells you what the best rate available is for that night in the different hotels.

Theres also a couple of motels a few hundred yards beyond the irish pub, about 2 minutes from the boardwalk.

I ended up staying in the taj. the room was about 85 $ for the night, but it was very nice (not sure about the lepoard print bed speads thought :p )

    have a good time.

edit: if you are going to take the greyhound to get there, the earlier you book, the cheaper the ticket.

out on how to get there from Philly and it seems you can get a coach provided by any one of the casinos for a day trip. So that could be a plan. I guess they provide the freeish transport so you go blow your money in their casino , fair enough deal it seems.
