Sky dish setup

    lads, my brother took his dish with him to his new house.

    He tried there last nite to set it up, all he did was leave it on the ground and faced it in the direction that other dishes in the area were facing, he is not getting a signal on the box at all.

    also the existing cable is too short, I presume that if he gets a lenght of sat cable that will do, is it hard to get it connected to the dish and the connections into the back of the box?

    You need to get ct100 cable (i think maplins, galway have it; otherwise, b&q liffey valley and athlone if its open yet?). Maplins definitely have the coax connectors.
    Astra2 is the strongest signal out there so it should be fairly easy to get. Having said that, the job is a lot easier if you have a satfinder. Maplins should have these too - although i'm not sure what theyre charging.
