I'm in a band from Louth. We're fairly decent and we've been playing covers for over a year now, but we wanna start doin originals gigs.

We've recorded stuff and it sounds good.

where are the best places to play.

I know Eamonn Dorans and other places in Temple Bar but are they any other good spots, where you don't have to pay someone to play?

so what do you suggest I do?

Go in and ask for a gig.

Do you need a demo and should I ask for payment, or will payment not happen until we break the States??

Just jokin, but is there payment or do we have to rent a place out?

you can drop in demos and they will try and fit you onto a show somewhere down the line. or you can rent the place and put on your own gigs. If you are new , i would recommend going with the first option for a little while
