    Mostly common sense...

dont open files I dont recognise....

But I use Adaware and Syntamantec AV Corporate edition.

Also a router is a hardware firewall...only REALLY good hackers can get past firewalls like that.

I don't know what you're smoking, but I'd like some please.

Routers are firewalls....it's a little known fact...when you have one between your modem and your computer it makes it VERY difficult to break into your network. The only ports that are open are the ones you want open...

Oooh, so close, but yet so far away. SOME routers have hardware firewalls. Not all. What you are thinking of is NAT - Network Address Translation. This forwards incoming requests to wherever they are supposed to be going (or not). NAT does make it more difficult to attack a system, because it'll "ignore" requests on ports other than those specified. Still, it's not bulletproof - a firewall is needed too. NAT won't stop anything getting OUT...

Personally I use zonealarm security suite.

I find it excellent, it does the job and isnt bloated. Ive used almost all other software available and zonealarm suits me best.
