    Have a tv card but have lost the damn cd with the software.
    Could any1 recommend a good free program to recieve tv and radio if possible.

    There's plenty... most of are for Linux but these two for Windows are both good!

    Virtual VCR is another good one for Windows.

    I like to use VirtualDub with Huffyuv and PCM audio. Then convert. Otherwise I get desync in audio/video.

    Ditto with what Ste- said. Best possible way of recording from TV-Card. If you have a fast PC you could also just use on the fly XVid encoding, or else high bitrate MPEG-2 encoding.

    For the best possible results you want to us Huffyuv (Massive filesizes but near lossles) and then convert to Xvid.
