    Hi Jones
I recently bought a Siemens SX1 from fish4phones.ie, and found them to be quite good. They are a little on the expensive side though, so my advice would be to keep your eye on the site, as they do have special offers from time to time, and you might manage to grab yourself a bargain. From what I heard from others, mPhone and liveTelecom are also quite cheap, even when the shipping charges are included. Expansys stock a huge range of phones, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding what you're looking for there, even if it is a little expensive (especially for newer products). If you're looking for a Siemens, you should also consider clubSiemens, they're based in Germany, and offer some very attractive prices. Well worth a look.
In terms of delivery and security, I can only comment on Fish4phones, whom I found to be excellent. The phone was delivered right to my desk in work, it was even in before me in the morning (9:30)!
You might want to check that mPhone and liveTelecom deliver to the ROI before purchasing, I seem to recall that I saw something on one of those websites that mentioned delivery was only possible within the UK, but don't quote me on that one.
    Hope this helps,
    Ciaran

    http://www.mobilerepair.de

This website is very cheap for phones. There are a couple of very new phones on it now. The 6670 is €140 cheaper than expansys.ie and the S700i is around the same price cheaper. There is a thread in Bargain alerts giving info about people who bought them

These guys say they only ship within the UK, have you purchased from them?

    Hiya,

I've used mobilefun.co.uk in the past for delivery to Ireland. You could also try http://www.mobileplace.ie/. They too ship to Ireland but its only accessories. They're cheaper than anywhere else in Ireland - however delivery can take up to one week.

    www.fish4fones.ie
Really great little service, loads of phones on the site and i once got one of their staff to search out some accessories that I couldn't find anywhere else for a phone that had long gone out of circulation. Bit of a bargain too!

Hate to stir it lads but those two sites seem very expensive compared with the ones below:

    www.mphone.co.uk
    www.nomatica.ie

I need to get a Samsung E700 for the girlfriend and on both of these its on average 100 quid cheaper sim-free than on Irish sites. Thing is, I don't know if these sites are any good - has anyone had any experience? Might help original poster too ;-)

Ebay - good enough for me, not quite good enough for my gf :-(

If its accessories you're looking for you can't beat the prices and the huge selection from mobilefun.co.uk. I just bought a headset from them. Here's an example of the good prices:

    Nokia HDW-2 Bluetooth headset - fish4phones €120 mobilefun £46.95
    Plantronics M2500 - fish4phones €79.99 mobilefun £28.95

    Postage to Ireland is £4.50

im looking for some websites other then expansys to buy phones, either the i-mate sp3i or the mitac mio 8870 (also known as the sagem mys7 i think)
the mitac is on their site but there's no price or availability but i want to see how much its gonna be to see if i should wait until it comes out or just buy the sp3i.

    any help is appreciated

My advice is to wait until the autumn for phones powered by Windows Mobile 5. If you buy the Sp3i, you're buying a phone with a soon-to-be out of date OS.

www.celluloco.com. They carry some i-mate stuff and mitac.

Why is there not a sticky that has a list of mobile phone shops on the net as well as off-line.
It would be so handy to have no more post where to buy (none till page 5 thou).
I'm just trying to find the cheapest place for some phones and would rather buy somewhere that people have used before than a unknow shop i get of google.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,176 ✭✭✭1huge1

I bought my phone of www.vodafone.ie and suprisingly it was delivered the next day

Seems like a great idea alright, but it would end up a nightmare.
Due to the nature of mobile phones, the prices would keep changing.
The guy who's cheap today on one phone could be expensive tomorrow and then the following week a network might add the phone to their ready to go list, so it would end up constantly changing.

I'm sure Brian would post a sticky here if he felt it was worthwhile, but I just reckon thats the main reason he doesnt

the majority of people have 'sticky blindness' and ignore them anyway, also someone would have to put it together and maintain it when performing a quick search of the forum would get the answer...

the most appropriate thread is now merged in...
