    Hi,

Does anyone know if it's possible to download xml based Irish TV listings to use with xmltv?

    Thanks,

You might want to check the forums on www.byopvr.com. If you get an answer there, could you post it here too please? I'll be building a htpc within the next two weeks, and I'd very much like to know that.

As far as I remember Ireland is a region under the UK listings. Can't really remember much about it but i definately remember getting it to grab RTE info so it is possible.

Hahahahahahaha. Brilliant. Just like Canada's part of the US, right? ;)

(I'm not blaming you of course....I just think it's funny). :)

Thanks daveJAM. No way I would have found that otherwise. My sense of national identity being what it is ;)

Yeah, for ages I thought it just wasn't possible, then someone pointed it out to me that it was under the UK.

Maybe they just wanted to make things easier on themselves seeing as we only have 4 extra channels over the UK and we can get pretty much everything they have.

I installed this last night and it seems like a pile of crap. It takes nearly an hour to download the info (on broadband), then when you open tv_check the channel-id is shown instead of the display-name.
And it's well ugly to boot.

You need a nice frontend for it :)

Something like mythTV on Linux should do the trick.
