Boards Beer 7 - how do you recognise each other?

Just a random thought when through my little brain while my eye's picked up on that "Boards Beer 7" ad banner. How do you recognise each other? Name tags? Or, do you dress up as your Avatar?
For some reason I want to know this.

Well with a name like Beruthiel you can get away with that sort of thing. If I walked in there and said "Hi, I'm pee haych zero one", they'd get the fright of their life! They'd might think I'm some sort of android or something, which will probably cause mass panic! AGHHHHHHHH!!!

I always thought it was a play on the word "phone" (PH + 'oh one') and that was how you pronounced it!

Tips to find boards people in a pub:

1. Find the madest wierdiest people in the pub.
2. Find the madest person in that group
3. Look at them with your face in a questioning posture.
4. Say "Boards?"
5. They should reply "Hi, yes, I'm [insert boards nick here] who're you?
6. I don't know what happens now as I always get blacksouts by this stage.

Plan B:
Find the bloke in a dress. Say "pam?". This will result in two possible scenario's:

1. I will greet you and demand you buy me a drink for being so funny/famous/sexy.

2. Your face will have a high velocity connection with the fist of an outraged transvestite that's sick of people thinking all transvestites are ladies of the night.

I'd go with the first option myself. Plan B does not sound like a happy ending either way.

Hey, so when you all meet up... do you find out eachothers real names, or do you spend the night addressing people by their net aliases?
I've met a few people at LANs/drinks before and can't stop myself using their daft pseudonyms, which makes the whole affair even more surreal.
Are they complete strangers or have you spoken to them many times... hard for my brain to decide sometimes.

Actually, I find people usually tell you their real names first and you just use that.

Despite this people still insist on calling me Jim. Dataisgod called me by my real name the other day....it was very weird.
