I used to do this sort of thing years ago. Not 100% sure where to get the stuff in Dublin, but I can tell you what you can use to make your road/grass etc.

You could use flock, a fine sawdust coloured green, brown, grey etc. You can give a painted surface some texture so an egg-carton doesn't look like a green egg-carton but a grassy knoll (sp?). You paint your road dark grey and sprinkle some grey flock on it. It comes in different grades, some looks more like cork crumbs and can be quite coarse.

There's also fine sand, or fine stones. And trees are normally made from coloured lichen on a wire base covered in modelling clay. I used to use bits of heather branches cut to look like trees too.

All these would be available from a railway modelling shop. The only one I know (that might not even be there any more) is Marks Models along the south quays, Hawkins St perhaps.

    Hope that helps, good luck.

    B.
