What's the craic with the rehearsal room for bands? I've heard a couple of band practicing upstairs in the hub and in the "inter-faith" centre.

Does it cost anything, what equipment is there and is there any suitable amp for use with headphones so a dummer can practice on his own?

Nop, the interfaith is free, just write your name in the book, the glass room is booked for the weekends by a band, but i reckon your can get the interfaith outside mass time and during the week, just mail the music soc or check the book just inside the door if it's locked when you get there ring security and they'll open it, eventually.

How about the hub? What equipment is available in both? Is there a drum kit in either the hub or interfaith centre?

Music Soc equipment officer here :)

The glass room has pretty much been taken over for our bands to practice. We have a Drum Kit, PA System, 100Watt Marshall Guitar Amp, 180Watt Ashtown Bass Amp and Mics, always set up for use. The sound isn't the best, it's on par with the interfaith acoustics wise, but it's just the fact that it's pretty much always a ready-to-rock room that's the major plus!

It's booked out Monday-Thursday evenings from 6-10. It's free to use by our members, but we take a deposit which you get back as soon as you're finished to spend in the bar :). At the moment we're letting bands just book a night a week, so you get to arse around for 4 hours.

E-mail us and it'll be sent to the dude who's organising the bookings of it. (mention you were on boards.ie)
