As my journal records, I'm up for an award this week from the IIA. Um, woo, go me. But this means I cant play the big game this month as I had planned. :(
I also cant work it and I cant do the computer registration either.

I realised this yesterday and wandered into the club at 9 to let Luke know. No sign of Luke, he's in a meeting. Ok, I have 30 notes exactly in my pocket and decide that, despite Brendan's mock-frown, I'll go play Blackjack. 3 shoes later I've worked it up to 80 notes and cash out. Hurrah.

Still no sign of Luke. I should really leave a note. A feck it, I'll play a cash game with my new-found dosh. Hyzepher (who seems to be going through a Davey Devil period of rough beats!) sits down with me and after a couple of ropey bluffs from me and a very generous donation to my AQ I work it up to about 150 (and back down again to 50 when a loony chinese guy calls my bluff with A3 on an Ace high flop!). Back to 150 with a straight and then a monster hand of Omaha stands up for me with the second nuts and I hit 450 and leave. So happy days, I head home at midnight.

I switch on the computer and because I have a sickness for this game, I log onto my PartyPoker account and sit into a cash game. Now I had started online with 100 and worked that up to 300 before I went on a spending spree of SNG's and tried multi-tabling again (which I cant do with that software, its just too sh*te...why no tiling tables?). Anyway I have 120 in my account and put 50 of it on the 50 NLH cash table. An hour later I'm thanking the table and taking my 200 notes off it.

So, new computer for me! I'm glad Luke's meetings go on so long :):)

    DeV.

I had the exact opposite experience last night. Deposited 50 quid in PartyPoker at the weekend, despite trying to avoid online poker for a while. By last night I had worked it up to 400 through cash games & sit n gos. So just before I go to bed I decide to play for a final half hour to see if I can make it to a cool 500 by multi-tabling at two 100 NL tables.

Exactly as that half hour expires im back down to my original 50.
    Q Q called by A J - he hits his ace
    K K runs into A A
    A K runs into AA
    Flopped trips runs into house.

I tell ya its enough to make a grown man weep :(

PartyPoker is great for big swings like that.

I took 125 out on Sunday, 100 yesterday but lost 50 on saturday, as well as 45 and 40 yesterday. All this on 25$ 6-seater NL tables.

I don't like the max buy-in either. I think it's too low. It should be 100 times the BB for NL and PL imo. Having it at 50*BB allows people to bully the table when they've a big stack.

Bullies ROCK. Sit and do nothing until you get premium hands, limp in if you are ahead of the bully and just call if you are after him. If you dont hit and he goes big, ok, walk away. If you do hit, wait for him to bully you or call his big bet. Bust his chops like that that 2-3 times and THEN bluff him over the top. He'll never call you. :)

I'm never. Repeat NEVER multi tabling at PartyPoker the S/W is just TOO annoying even on just two tables. Its as confusing as all hell!
(In fact its the reason I'm going to leave PP or at least join another site. I cant believe you cant tile 4 tables. Is there any site where you CAN do that? (or where Multi-ing is support/encouraged cos PP seem to actively discourage it!)

Good advice. Just need to remember that now! Although I would say that betting over the top can seriously damage your stack! ;)

GamingClub is good for that (Ladbrokes too). Set the table options to small table. It's really tiny and does take some getting used to but you could easily have 10 tables open (not that you probably would) with a laptop size screen.

The only way to tile windows on PP is to set the monitor res to 1600 x 1200 - that gets four in with no overlap.

ultimate bet have an option which makes their windows very small, perfect for multitabling.

I can fit 4 party poker tables on my screen at home easily enough.

I wish I was on your table last night DeV, I was on the main table - never again. Most of the pots were up to about €50 pre flop, and a good few that had monster amounts of chips pre-flop in Omaha. Their was one punter who was down well over a grand, he was so far on tilt I thought he was gonna fall of his chair.

After 4 hours of play I left only 9 euro's down. I think i was lucky to get away with any money at all. I just can't understand how they can gamble so much pre-flop in Omaha and turn over a crap hand that has made the nuts. Why don't they just play roulette? It seems like some of the players wait for these monsters to develop just so they get in on the spin of a wheel. I refused to get involved in any of these gamble fests and then everyone some figured out I was the table rock so never got paid off when i hit a good hand. Davey a rock? This can't be right.

For 9 euro's there was some great entertainment but I'll be trying to avoid tables like that in the future.

Yeah, I'm never playing on that table again when the 100 Omaha game hasnt formed. Its suicide. I lost 250 notes the other night going in welkl ahead of all of them after the flop and betting big but since I didnt have more to put pain on them after the turn they all called 60 notes a go and promptly out drew me (5 callers for 60 notes a head, noone of them can resist even with crap, so long as they have a draw). I left and played the PLH only table (which is a great game though a bit dull at times). I got my stack back and then some but it was 4am on a week day and I'd had 3 hours kip the night before so you can imagine the state I was in.

The best nights for cash are late on Tuesday when the draw poker players go all tilty and decide to try out this new fangled 2-card game and the Thursday night of the big game when theres easily 6 tables of cash going on at the peak.

Getting onto the second table of 50 H/O is good but my personal policy is that unless I fancy a gamble and a laugh with the guys, once I'm asked to move to the main table I make an excuse and leave.

i nearly killed luke for the must move thing.

but then i got dealt quads twice in omaha so couldn't complain
