Hi just need a bit of help; theres a digital pic 2500x1500 someone purchased, and it now needs to be printed.

With just that info - the fact that its 2500x1500 pixels, can anyone give me an idea of how big that image could be printed and still have acceptable quality?

And it would be printed by a 'proper printer.'

It would be fine at A4-width, but how about A3 or bigger?

Would just ring a photo shop or wherever but i kinda need to know asap so any help very appreciated.

depends what you mean by a proper printer and by acceptable quality

most photo lab digital printers print at 300 dots per inch which means at this quality 2500x1500 pixels, you will get 8.3inches by 5 inches

any bigger than that and the printing software enlarges the image to 300dpi before printing

i have a 20x30 inch photo printed by photobox.ie from about a 2500x1500 digital image and from even a small distance away it looks really amazing

this is whats annoying me, i have no info except a vague description of a 2500x1500 image which we want to print out professionally & 'big' they gave me a3 or a bit bigger as a starting point.

I think it would be grand...as far as i know they're for posters of some kind.

    ta for the help.
