And get your tickets soon folks, I'm reliably informed they are selling fast.

Not surprising really. I'd be going myself only I'm away that week.

Class! Definitly will go to that. Their last gig in the mean fiddler all those years ago was brilliant. I always felt that "on the turn" would break the lads in the states, pity they didn't get the chance to promote it there.

Lets hope they go onto bigger and better things this time 'round

    Sweet!

would love to go to that gig alright. saw wilt a few times and that got me interested in kerbdog. got on the turn a few years ago and it's excellent, even though I haven't listened to it in ages. can't find the first album though.
I hear Wilt are doing a show in late January also..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,182 ✭✭✭Tiriel

tickets are still on sale.. got mine yippee!! saw Wilt in Sir Henry's (Cork) a few years back.. good old gig! looking forward to it now should be a blast :D

Sorry for resurrecting an oldish thread but I have just noticed this too...

If both Kerbdog + Wilt are about who is the lineup - is Mr. Battle fronting both?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 168 ✭✭miss serena

Yup both! They have sold out the 5th Feb but they added an extra date, the 4th. Defo one not to miss!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,213 ✭✭✭✭therecklessone

If both Kerbdog + Wilt are about who is the lineup - is Mr. Battle fronting both?

Battle is the only remaining member of Wilt who played in Kerbdog. Darragh is no longer involved with Wilt. He will be playing the Kerbdog shows though, along with Battle and Colin.

Wilt are on an hiatus at the moment, no record label and no known plans to start playing shows again. The Kerbdog shows are allegedly two one-off (should that be one two-off) gigs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,213 ✭✭✭✭therecklessone

Do you still need tickets for the 5th? I've got two but the Friday night would suit me better. If you want to swap let me know. I can meet in Dublin.

I cannot wait until Friday night. I never thought 7 years ago at their "final" gig that they'd reform and play for us again, Dying to hear "Dummycrusher" and "JJ's Song" again, getting tingles down my spine as I type this. :D

I was at the last gig in ... that place - was it Mono ?

It was damn good but I can hardly remember it. Should be good
    to see them again.

In case anyone is looking for tickets I have four spare tickets for sale
    in this thread here

Last gig was the Mean Fiddler (later became Mono, now the Village)

Looking forward to tomorrow's gig - just checked the Ticketmaster site and, for anyone who wanted to get to this but missed out on tickets, there's another gig listed for the first of april, up in Belfast. A bit of a trek if you're down south, but still...just thought I'd mention it since nobody else seems to have done...

Would you be willing to sell one for saturday? I'm in Dublin as well.

Just found out my friends brother has a Saturday ticket while the rest of us are due to go tonight. Does anyone want to swap a Friday ticket for a Saturday one?

Further to the previous extra gig I mentioned, they're playing Cork in April as well...just got tickets for that as well :D

Great gig last night, such a buzz seeing the band back on stage after 7 long years...

Going tonight as well, gonna get all pissed up and cause havoc.

    Old skool.

Yes, great gig last night (4th).
Battle glossed over the lyrics in a few songs, notable the more popular ones. Not sure whether it was lack of practice or just letting the crowd sing for him.

Saw two songs of the support band, Laminate - very impressed. Will have to go looking for a CD.

TBMC - nice small venue. I was just thinking, with all the disappointed ticketless U2 fans, the more you pay to see a band the further away you are from the stage.

Saw the gig on Saturday and they played a blinder as you'd expect. I only caught the end of the support band, Laminate but they seemed pretty good.

For a sold out gig there was F.all people looking for tickets. I ended up with a spare one at the last minute and couldn't give it away!

Agreed. Did you see the retard who climbed onstage yelling outside afterwards about how he was a legend because he was onstage with kerbdog? (he seemed to overlook the part where he was dragged offstage by security)

Yeah, there was a tout-type dude selling tickets outside - we needed an extra ticket and got one off him when we were going in at 9. Maybe, because of who the band are, people didn't expect anyone to be selling tickets outside?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,746 ✭✭✭0utshined

Yeah, I saw him just at the end of the show.I thought he might try a dive but he didn't seem to do it in time. I didn't hang about afterwards but I could hear him as I was walking away.

I saw that tout lad as well, I was waiting for someone to go up to him so I could give them one free. In the end I got fed up waiting and went inside. I left the spare ticket with the bouncer and asked him to give it to anyone who was looking for one. Hopefully somebody got it....

Have to say the second night was a lot better than the first night, but the crowd was totally different. Lot more rockers, but a lot more dickheads too. Had no hastle the Friday, there was some **** ****ing drinks down from upstairs there on Sat. Other **** too, not being able to crowd surf for fear of being fecked out...... Music wise the boys simply ****ing rocked, like a ****ing rock being ****ed. Heard they only had a couple of pratices before hand too.....Might head down to Cork to see them. Or is that a bit much?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,746 ✭✭✭0utshined

Some would say that's too much.

Not me though, go for it.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators, Regional Abroad Moderators Posts: 11,107 Mod ✭✭✭✭Fysh

Hey, I live in cork, am seeing them again in cork, and travelled to dublin to see them. Hell, I was considering going to the belfast gig to see them again until I found out they were coming down south.

Incidentally - I have about 10 low quality (as in 32kbps at 16KHZ) clips (~30 seconds or so each) from the saturday gig that I recorded on my phone...anyone else get anything interesting? (a buddy got a bit of video footage but can't transfer it from phone to PC, annoyingly...)

Excellet tickets on sale for Nancy's .. that should be interesting! Have to go.. was at the Sat. gig.. brilliant stuff!! Not sure about Laminate.. I didn't really like the leads voice.. got a bit annoying but great other than that!!
