    Might be better suited to the 'Home Entertainment' forum perhaps.

    Best way to check is look up the model number in the catalogue and then go to http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks to see if there is a code that can be input from the remote to make it multi-region. Alternatively, Power City sells Black Diamond and other relatively cheap branded multi-region DVD players.

    apparently there is a multi region dvd for salem with argos at the moment, although they dont appear to have an Irish website but it is approx 34 euro
