For some reason when i plug the connections from my digital camera into my PC (usb port) instead of recognising the pictures the message it gives me is "safely remove hardware" i have no idea why it is doing this as i have uploaded photos several times in the past without any problems,i uninstalled the software that came with my digital camera and reinstalled it and still no success,i unpluged my broadband connection and another connection and just had the connection from my camera in the usb port and switched the camera on but it keeps giving me the same message, ive gone to troubleshooting and still no joy, this is driving me fcukin mad at this rate, ive been trying to figure out for hours what the hell could be wrong but i cant,is there any possibility it might have anything to do with me recently having changed browser from IE to Mozilla?I wouldnt imagine it does although when i was using IE i could always upload photos no problem, any help would be appreciated,cheers...

I'm not sure what way you usualy grab the photos off the camera, but do you get an additional drive showing up in windows explorer?
Also try powering the camera from the mains if that's an option.

Yup. SantaHoe's right. Check windows explorer or "my computer" for an extra drive. I always get that "safely unplug hardware" window, so that's not a problem.

What kind of camera is it?

Guys, still no luck ,basically what seems to be the problem is that despite me having the camera connections plugged into the USB port, etc on my PC i get a message like this"cannot connect, please make sure the camera is turned on and plugged into the computer" (something similar to that anyway) its plugged in and switched on so i really dont know what the problem is,this only seems to be a recent thing as its worked perfectly fine before and i just cannot understand whats gone wrong, any further tips would be appreciated.

Damaged port or cable, I'd say. Have you tried several USB ports? the port on the camera might be jiggered.
