Creative Zen/Muvo Owners - Battery Issues?

Mods not sure if this might be better in Home Ent - feel free to move.

Ok just bought a Zen micro (ta peats) while I love the dinky little thing Im a bit concerned about the battery behaviour. If I charge it before going to bed and then switch it off - come the morning (7-8 hours later) the battery has lost almost 1/3 of its charge. Play a couple of tracks (mostly WMA vbr @ 135-215 Kbps admittedly) and the battery meter goes down from 3 to 2 bars.

I think its the same battery as the muvo slim - tiny thing.

I was wondering if any other Zen/Muvo owners have experienced this? Maybe even Ipod/Mini owners too?

Well the I-Pods are notoriously poor when it comes to the battery. I've just bought one of the 4GB Muvo's and it's *fantastic*. Battery is absolutely fine, and the unit is smaller then my MD player :O

Solution, leave the thing plugged in overnight...
It's not a Metal-NH battery like in phones, so you can't "overcharge" it.
Lithium Ion batteries are much more forgiving. They LIKE being on full charge.
In fact, you should try NEVER to completley discharge it.
Even if you plan on storing it for lengthy periods of time, keep it at about 40% charge for optimal battery life.

I have Zen Xtra 30GB...i'd say i get in or around the 14hrs thats adertised with the product...it took a few charges to get it there though...if its still poor after 7 or 8 FULL charges then get onto creative and see if theres any known issues..

I get almost 6 days from a full charge with 2 hours a day usage on my 4th gen 40GB iPod and no top-ups in between - doesn't seem that bad. The older generations of iPod were poor I'll admit but not so for the newer models.

    ZEN
