Im looking for something simple, preferably free, that will allow me to resume downloads. BTW, is this not possible with Firefox?

    Thanks.

There's a firefox plugin/extension whose name I forget (foxget or rightfox or some such).
Maybe in the download tools section here.

Well I use Linux, which includes a very handy little programme called wget. You can easily get it to recursivly download a page/site, where to download it etc. One of the things it can do is resume a download.

I'm a huge fan of Download Mage (www.dlmage.com).

It supports scheduled downloads, download throttling (both important for downloading in work!), and link leeching (point it at a page, and it will list all the links on the page with checkboxes to select which links you want to download).

Its tiny (<1mb) and doesn't contain any bloated functionality or spyware/adware.

Pity its not being developed any more ....

FlashGET with out a doubt it easily the best i've used, I love the 'FLASHGOT' link that you can use in Firefox with it, think it works with other dl managers too for sending links to them. If i couldn't use FlashGET I'd go with getright, but just no where near as good.

Yep, wget.exe is available for the PC too. I used to use GetRight, which is quite good as a drag-and-drop downloader.
