check the car's manual/handbook if you still have it or otherwise bring it to Renault garage and get them to have a look at it.

I had problem with code before with a Astra and Opel Garage sorted it in 2 minutes for free

its been a while (5 years), but i think you use the arrow keys on the radio to move the numbers along

No..nothing in the car manual. I've Googled this to no avail. I rang Renault and young guy gave me the code for free! (I removed the battery temporarily and needed the code to re start the radio) Now I consider myself fairly tech savvy but this Renault Clio car radio has me baffled!! I'm at the moving the digits to certain values stage but cant get move or save the code!! ****!!!

    Did you get this sorted?

I have a 99 Clio and have had to set the radio code a few times - here's how I did it:

    Example Code: 9516

    Initally, radio display shows 0000

Press button 1 on the radio 9 times so it shows 9
Press button 2 on the radio 5 times so it shows 5
Press button 3 on the radio 1 time so it shows 1
Press button 4 on the radio 6 times so it shows 6

Now, radio display should show 9516

Keep your finger on button 6 until you get some beeps out of it - and it should be ok ;)

As Marls says. Done this on Nissan Sunny and Volvo S40 radios.
Mind you, if you get it wrong after 3 attempts, I think you need garage to reset it. Or put the radio in a freezer if you're to believe some of (other) things you read on the net ;)
