Hey guys....there are groups of Microsoft employees handing out information booklets & copies of Service Pack 2 for Windows XP around Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Sligo & Waterford.
I am one of them(people) so if you want a copy please don't be afraid to go up & ask (or take one if your offered).
Never felt so rejected in all my life this morning, people crossing the road, staring at the ground, grunting at me, shaking their heads, throwin the leaflet on the ground 2 secs after takin it etc etc...

Have to say it was an eye-opener, from now on, I will actually give people in the street the time of day....Normally I will not walk through town without my headphones on, even if I ain't listenin 2 music 'cause you get no hassle then.
Just tryin to let people know that you won't be hassled to give money for some worthless charity in the Solomon Islands, you will get a free CD.

Hmmm, I heard an ad for this on the radio this morning and it sounded very Eircom-ish.

However, it's a good idea, and hopefully it serves to raise peoples awareness of these issues... http://www.makeitsecure.ie/

I wouldn't trust this whole champaign because Microsoft is involved. They have a vested interest in various security related computer things (like the operating system you're running and the web browser you use), and they are going to prioritise their bottom line above your actual needs. Thus they are biased.

I'd trust them as much as that MEAS crowd that were publicising the potential impact parental attitides have to youth drinking (They're funded by the drinks industry).

What do other people thing about the (what i'm guessing to be heavy) involvment of Microsoft in this campaign?
