IT Career Advice? Know a good career consultant?

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good career advice consultant with knowledge of the IT industry.

I am currently working in a small Irish company as services consultant amongst other things. The majority of our customers are over seas and as such there is a lot of travel in my job. Unfortunately I am getting sick and tired of travel and the disruption it brings.

Besides from this I am not sure I actually want to be involved in IT any more and am wondering would it be better for me to start looking into a totally different Career. I have been working in small Irish It firms for 5 odd years in a similar role and I'm getting tired of the "one man for many jobs" viewpoint these companies are forced to take by their size. This approach means I have fallen into a Jack of all trades position which is not great for career development as companies tend to want to hire people with more focused skills.

    Any advice would be appreciated!

Your CV needn't reflect that you are a jack of all trades. If you've been exposed to several areas of IT in your work then maybe you have an idea which one you'd like to specialise in? Maybe work towards getting a specific industry accreditation in that area and build your CV around what it is you want to do, concentrating mostly on things that will be relevant and less attention to the other stuff.

Of course if you're not really sure IT is for you then it won't be that straight forward...
