    I'm trying to log on to www.boi-bol.com - which won't load into firefox (bummer)

    So I boot up IE IE6 (in Win XP Pro SP[bloody]2)

    I can't get any page to load, I keep getting the error below (see graphic) even though I have all of IE's setting reset to 'Default'.

    Can any one help?

    I also downloaded the latest 2 patches for IE form Microsoft & XP would not load - luckily I was able to restart from last known good settings.

    I just checked and it seems to load fine with my Firefox (v0.10, I know I'll upgrade soon). What happens when you go to it in Firefox?

    Good to hear. If something doesn't work, the best thing to do first is check you are runnnig the latest version, and if not, try the latest version to see if that makes a difference.

    same here!

    i had the same problem the other day , however i got a standard "page can't be found" message whenever I went to a HTTPS site, i checked all my router ports and other pc's on the network and they were all grand,
    so then I tried firefox it works ok.
    firefox is grand but i'd like to have internet explorer working , basically cause i don't like firefox tab's and bookmark system too much. But it has got plenty of good points, quick and easy ftp browsing which is handy.

    any idea's how to fix this problem, (and i don't mean ne not liking firefox:)) ?

    enable secure sites in the windows firewall?

    Add a port exception for https
    port= 443
    Type= tcp

    Sp2 turns on the windows firewall by default.

    <edit> hmm it works with Firefox, cos https is disabled in IE?
