braces - sexy or not?

right, im getting braces soon, and bubbles has been trying to convince me on irc that braces are cute and sexy. i find it difficult to believe him and although i dont find braces unattractive myself, im just very self conscious.

what do you think?

Would have to agree with tusky here... No way would I consider sorting out my imperfect jawline, though, what's the point? (If you don't want to be a newsreader, actor, model, work for Disney) I've ruled all of these out when I was 11! (without knowing it )

I think that if someone is already cute, then braces can make them even cuter. If they arent so hot then it makes it kinda worse. I think its more of an issue when you are younger cos any slight flaw can make you feel like a troll. Its probably worth it to have a cool smile for the rest of your life though.

I wouldn't characterise them as sexy in or of themselves, but they wouldn't turn me on or off finding someone attractive in anyway. They're not that big a deal to me.

Unless there's bits of food stuck in them, which is fairly manky.

I don't think braces matter - they won't make you more sexy, neither will they make you less sexy.

you can get clear braces nowadays aswell if you want. The dentists do not like them cause their fiddly to work with, but I had them on for 14months a while back

I dont think Braces are particulary sexy really!well not compared to someone without them but it wouldnt deter me from anyone!simply because they dont make someone look unsexy and they are only temporary!

Braces can be sexy - but my only worry as a guy is 'getting caught' in her braces when I'm getting me some doesn't bear thinking about.....

I'd say I don't like them .. but that was cause when I had them I hated them. I wouldn't let it put be off someone. As Ferdi said that sometimes something unique about a person makes them more attractive. It adds to the character.

don't worry about them, i had them for 2 years, they suck the first few days, but then you get used to them , and so does everyone else you know. Plus, when you're done, you'll have one hell of a good smile.

I would have thought that that was what the braces were for, cant imagine that you never smile. Hopefully it will do something for your obviously low self confidence. There's nothing more attractive than a nice smile

If you get them, don't be ashamed of them. And certainly don't be one of those people whose face contorts when they want to laugh or smile, because they don't want their braces to be seen. I went out with a girl once who used to do that, and it drove me mad. It's not necessary
