Flashget and Friefox

Hey. I'm having a problem with my installation of firefox. I used to have flashget installed, and I somehow managed to set it up such that when I click on a link to a file in Firefox, it gets transferred to flashget for download. I have since uninstalled flashget, but everytime I click on, say, a link to an mp3 file, it opens in a new window saying "Transferring download to flashget...".

Any ideas on how I reset Firefox to just open the mp3 file in a new window and just play it? I've already tried reinsatlling Firefox (I'm using version 1.0, the latest version), but that didn't help.

Tools - Options - Downloads and select the file type and edit it. Should do the trick.

Are you using the FlashGot extension? If so delete it....or disable it. If neither of our two suggestions works then you may have to delete your profile ( back up your bookmarks!!! )

Hmmm... .mp3 is not showing up in that list, but the plugin for it is installed. (click "plug ins" and it appears on that list).

I'm not using Flashgot, so it looks like I'll have to go about nuking my profile. How do I do that, btw?

Ok, I've created a new profile, and tested that, but I'm getting the same problem. It's still trying to download stuff using flashget. Maybe I've to mess around with the registry?

    (I'm using Win2K SP4, btw)

Maybe something to do with your FlashGet settings?

Problem solved!! There was a plugin installed for Flashget that I forgot about. It was installed in "c:\program files\mozilla firefox\plugins\flashget\" just in case anyone has the same problem in the future. There was an uninstall.exe file there that I ran to fix it!! :D
