IAAA AGM was today and we now have a rep on the IAAA board. Nothing fancy or anything but just a representitive. Its some acknolgement of our existence at least. The schools and the field archery have a rep too. So we nominated Keith Colton and he was seconded and approved.

I know we didn't get any consensus but it was a spur of the moment thing when we saw everyone else getting representation. Also, we expected more college archery people to be there cos a few said they'd be going. Maybe we can put together a committee at the next IV or right here on the board. Ewan would make a good chairperson in my opinion and perhaps Dermot as secretary? He practically does the job already, and very well too I might add.

Its a start at least. Btw, Pat Lyons is the new President of the IAAA for anyone interested. Its an entirely new IAAA board.

Hahahahahahaaaaaaaaa I'll rule with an iron fist.

Nah seriously, thanks for the chairperson nomination, we should look at people like Sinead etc as well, who could bring perhaps a bit more sanity and a bit less mindless violence to the table.

    Regards

    Ewan

    Hmmm, mindless violence......

Ya i'll be secretary, as long as i don't have to wear a skirt (which i think eveyone else will be equally happy with).

What do i have to do?

i think just keep doing what you're doing

i think we should set aside half an hour or an hour after the next IV to discuss the assocation with the archers who want to know more and those who haven't read about the idea here!
i'll compose a newer constitution than the one i posted during the summer and print off some copys for people to read during the comp...
people can put forward concerns and ideas.
a board can be formed then and get things off the ground!
I suppose an open forum AGM type thing!! to put it in loose terms!

i dunno, i reckon we could have something there with dermot in a skirt???

i think both those nominations are good ideas, and would like to put myself forward for official generally annoying little person.

That can only be a good thing I'd say.

Hopefully there'll be an active secretary along the lines of Chris Kinsella. Is there a webmaster now? And if Stephen Booth is gone then what's happening with the website/postal address/telephone/everything else he (tried?) to change to his office in Dun Laoghaire?

I'd have considered going but I'm not a member this year and was at a wedding in Tipp all weekend.

Ahh, that entirely new board part might have been a tad misleading. Its new insofar as every current member stepped down, however it isn't new in that a few of the members are very well known to us all and have served their time in the past. The 'new' Vice President is none other then Mr Jim Conroy and the 'new' Treasurer is his wife Mrs Pauline Conroy.

As for the Secretary, there was no person present willing to take on the job and so the current Secretary has agreed to serve till the end of the year so that a replacement can be found.

It should be emphasised that nobody else wanted to serve on the board and it was only after much silence, people staring at the carpet and a 10 minute break that lasted 30 that there were any names put forward at all. Hence the Secretary thing.

Finally, on the matter of the website - the hosting company (don't know who it is) are no longer hosting the website, but they won't give control of the domain name back to the IAAA so they can get it back up with another company in the same location. They have another host company (I think) and they'll host it as soon as the IAAA get the domain name back. I'm told that'll be soon.
