First of all, check if there is a cue file available for the mp3. (It will usually have the same name, but with a .cue extension, and will be no more than 1KB in size)

The cue file contains the times of the trackmarks, so that you won't have to insert them yourself.

Either way, if you can find the cue file or not, I'd recommend mp3DirectCut from http://www.mpesch3.de/

I use CD wave. Splits Wav's based on their silences. I use it when I record stuff onto the PC from other sources. But it means convering the MP3 to WAV and then back to MP3 again which will degrade the quality slightly. Maybe you won't notice it.

As far as I remember, you highlight a track, then click on Cut.

Then highlight another, click on Cut, and so on.

When you're done go to File -> Save Split, and it will save the sections, each to it's own mp3 file.
