    Ok heres the problem.

I have a large cd collection that the missus finds quite an annoyance. For the sake of household harmony I decided to copy the cds to the hard drive convert to mp3s and record to dvd on my Phillips dvdrw885k. I would then be able to play them on my stand alone dvd Recorder Pioneer Dvr220 downstairs. The problem is that the Pioneer will not play the discs. Strange as they are the same discs that I use in the Pioneer to record from Tv. However the Pioneer will play cd-rs created on the Phillips dvdrw. Both systems use -r. Please can anyone help or shed some light?

Perhaps the Pioneer will not play MP3.

Are you burning the songs to cd-r as mp3s or converting them into audio cds?

i have a not dis-similar problem with my PS2. I can burn divx's to CDR and watch them with the PS2 divx player, but for some reason the same movies won't play off DVD-R's, even though I've used the dame disks to burn dvd movies, and backups of my PS2 games.

maybe it's the software player itself within the dvd player that can't read the DVD disks? so you'd put the disk in, the disk reads dvd content, scans it then see's mp3 audio so passes it to the audio player, but the audio player isn't configured to read dvd discs? just a thought. think that's my problem anyway.
