error on digtal camera images

seams to have been a problem on one of my memory cards in my camera and some of the images have a problem they appear on my pc as thumbnails fine but I either can't open them or if i can they only a small part appears. The guy in the camera shop says he can run the card through some recovery software for 20 euros? This…

The guy in the camera shop says he can run the card through some recovery software for 20 euros? This seams very expensive and there is no gantee of it working.

Anyone know what can be done to possible save the images?

i've seen it happen before and with my camera it can happen if you take a shot just as the battery runs out. not sure what you can do to save it but post on photo.net and a few other photo forums before handing over €20
