I haven't bought anything from them but I'm thinking of getting this

That's a damn good price. Wish I saw it earlier. I've ordered my LOTR from here:

    http://www.dvd.co.uk/product.asp?id=EDV9248

50p sterling dearer and it's 3 Euro postage to Ireland.

    DC.

I have used use sendit.com a good few times. Placed an order with Sendit and Amazon at the same time one day for 2 different dvds, sendit's delivery arrived before amazon's and amazon charge you for shipping

sendit.com are based in Belfast I believe. I used to order from them back when they were blackstar.co.uk and everything would arrive the next day after shipping...

But I think they may be just running the place out of Belfast now and shipping from Jersey like play.com do.

Generally play.com is cheaper, but I did spot they had Return of the King at a very good price and have ordered from them.

They have desperate shipping, on average it takes 1 month for a DVD to arrive, go to play.com, they have Family Guy for 9pounds, the simpsons for 15 and Futurama also for 15, delivery is free and quicker than sendit.com

Really, sendit are cheaper on something things than play.com, and despite what I say, the three times I've ordered off them I've had no hassle, and all packages were delivered.

The first one is on VHS, while the other is on DVD.

They still do VHS, so you have to be careful.

    Is everything region 1?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 317 ✭✭huh!

yes all region 1 and free shipping untill dec 31st, example is this American Splendor for € 5.12 a lot of other new titles for this price but they do take ages to send,

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,035 ✭✭✭Bri

    Ok thanks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,894 ✭✭✭Mr. Fancypants

They only take ages if the item isnt in stock. If you have any preorders they are usually shipped as soon as them come in and i can honestly say that any orders from them have arrived much faster than from Play or CDwow once they ship. Considering they are in Canada i find that impressive.

Just as a matter of interest how long did the delivery take to get to you! i've Half Life 2 ordered with them and its been dispatched since the 17th but still no sign of it???

I ordered Star Trek TNG box set for my boyfriend and it arrived 2 days later because they sent it with SDS (it was huge!) so I was dead impressed and ordered a Simpsons box set the same day (9th of November). It said on the website it shipped on the 13th so I was really annoyed when it hadn't arrived a week later and cancelled my ROTK order with them. However, it arrived yesterday so I think I'm going to go re-order with them and have it sent to my home address in Waterford so I'll be able to watch it over Christmas at least (usually get things sent to work address in Dublin). They seem to be offering the best deal for ROTK online anyway....

Sigh....tried to use the coupon but it has expired  (my own fault for being slow off the mark)
Play.com has sold out it's pre-order of Lotr 5 disc set I just hope sendit.com is not just taking orders more than it can fulfill on the release date of the DVD.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,267 ✭✭✭Elessar

Excellent, ROTK gift edition has shipped :D

the 4th?? You must have got the first batch.
Damn mine was shipped 8th but since you dont have it yet, i might be waiting a while.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 328 ✭✭popey21

I order my copy of lord of the rings when this post started and still have not received it yet . They sent me an email saying there is delays shipping to Ireland. I though they were based in Belfast. I have had dvds ship from England In that time no problem. surely its quicker to ship from Belfast than it is from England.
Has anyone who ordered at then time also received there's yet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,278 ✭✭✭kenmc

I got the box set extended edition, shipped on 8th, received last friday thankfully - in time to give away as a pressie!
    customer service seems good.

Count your lucky stars, waiting 4 months for 2 orders from dvdsoon. Dealt with Sendit once before and they do tend to be slower posting than others (CD-Wow, play)....must be the feckin pigeons they use!

    Mine arrived on Saturday.

Sendit.com have their offices in Belfast, but I believe they ship the DVDs out of Jersey like Play.com do. For tax purposes I guess.

well that would make sense. will have to wait a little longer,

    thanks for the response lads

I had to get onto cdwow last week about something that hadnt arrived and they said they have had alot of problems with Irish orders because customs have been checking everything thats over €20 (I'm assuming euro's!) and that this is one of the reasons apart from 'an post' for delays.

No whether thats true or not I really dont know or just a mad excuse the woman dreamt up but CDwow in my experience are normally good to deal with!

I ordered something off sendit.com 10 days ago (miracle on 34th street for my kids!!) and got an email 2 days ago to say it was 'temporarily' out of stock, that must have been some stock check to take 8 days!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,558 ✭✭✭CyberGhost

    I don't know,

I ordered a player from mx2.co.uk got it in 4 days

ordered call of duty united offensive from them the same day, it was even dispatched earlier, because the player was out of stock

and it has been 10 days and I still haven't received it
